PNW STATE-OF-THE-ART INDOOR ARENA

The Blue Mountain Equine Center is in the exact center of the Northwest. We are 3 hours from Portland, Boise and Spokane in Pendleton, Oregon. BMEC is adjacent to the Pendleton Round-Up stadium, Happy Canyon Arena and the Pendleton Convention Center. It is the perfect indoor venue for any competitive event or exhibition. It is the home of the Blue Mountain Rodeo Team and is a Blue Mountain Community College educational facility.

ARENA - EVENT

Starting at $1,000/Day​

  • Spacious Facility: 40,000 sq. ft., 220’ x 120’ arena, seating for 1,000.

  • Top-Notch Features: Heated, insulated, LED lighting, “Big Ass” fans for cooling.

  • Professional Equipment: PRCA-approved with Priefert panels, rough stock chutes, roping chutes, and livestock pens.

  • Exceptional Amenities: PA system, 11’x17’ big screen, announcer’s booth, ticket booth, and on-site concessions.

  • Event-Ready: Includes 3 arena waterings and groomings with Black Widow Arena Groomer (extras available).

ARENA HOURLY

$50/hour for up to 2 horses; $10/hour per additional horse.

  • Flexible Hours:

    • Mon–Thurs: 9 AM–3 PM

    • Tues & Thurs: 7 PM–10 PM

    • Fridays & weekends by appointment.

  • Group Discounts: Special pricing for clubs, groups, and trainers giving lessons.

  • Advanced Booking: Private rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

*Subject to availability around scheduled events.

SPECIAL EVENT ARENA RENTALS

BMEC can be rented for special events like weddings, concerts, family or youth group
gatherings. Please contact BMEC manager to talk about your event needs,

OTHER FEES AND SERVICES

  • Electronic Barrier Eyes: $100 per day.

  • Big Screen Services: 11’ x 17’ screen with technicians and camera operators – $500 per day.

  • Shavings: Additional bags available at $9 each.

  • Extended Arena Use: $100 per hour beyond the 12-hour event agreement.

  • Grounds Cleaning: $80 per hour for cleanup due to garbage left by competitors.

BASIC RULES

Usage Restrictions:

  • Private rides are not for club meets, lessons, or clinics.

  • No sick or injured animals are allowed.

  • No overnight trailer tying. Stalls must be rented for overnight stays (1 horse per stall).

  • Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance:

  • Clean up after yourself; $80/hour fee for additional cleaning or garbage removal.

  • No cleaning out trailers on-site (monitored by video).

Safety and Conduct:

  • No alcohol except via caterer.

  • No outside food, coolers, etc. allowed in the building.

  • Children must be supervised by guardians at all times.

  • Unruly horses, guests, or children will be asked to leave.

Check-In and Forms:

  • Participants must check in with BMEC management (M–F, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM) before their first ride.

  • The required paperwork includes a contract, a Hold Harmless agreement, and an acknowledgment of arena rules (a parent/guardian signature is required for participants under 18).

  • Participants must respect and abide by the rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

EACH RIDER MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING:

  • All participants must check in with the BMEC management office M-F, 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., to sign the required forms prior to their ride.

  • Participants will be required to sign a contract that includes a hold harmless agreement and a receipt of arena rules acknowledgment, including the Oregon Equine Limited Liability Law. If they are under 18, the contract must be co-signed by a parent or legal guardian.
